Independence.

That is what comes to mind and all that embodies what a wild horse is.  A self-reliant, self-efficient being. One who makes decisions guided by nature, considering the whole around them, the herd, and the environment they thrive in.

That is the essence of a wild horse.

Freedom.

Just as the wings of the eagle propel them high above our purple mountains majesty, the wild horse gallops across rocky jagged desert floors over western vistas of which your eyes can never meet the end of.

That is the essence of a wild horse.

Pride.

They face a hard life head-on and stand proud to protect their families.

That is the essence of a wild horse.

Independence.  Freedom.  Pride.

Everything we associate this day with, and everything our iconic and heroic wild horses are. Everything we desire to be.

May wild things be free…FOREVER.
