July 20, 2023: During its “2023 Motorized Equipment Hearing” held on Monday, July 17th, the US Forest Service (Forest Service) announced that it would be conducting another helicopter roundup that will target 500 Devil’s Garden horses this fall.

Feds at Meeting: National Park on Track to Remove North Dakota’s Only Wild Horse Herd

(Jan 13, 2023) On Thursday, January 12th, the Theodore Roosevelt National Park (TRNP) held a virtual public scoping meeting on its proposed Livestock Management Plan. And the message was clear: There is no place for wild horses in the Park that was named after America’s Conservation President.
About 160 participants attended the one-hour presentation that covered a history of livestock in the Park, a review of the three proposed alternatives for the management plan, and a lengthy question-and-answer period.

MEDORA, North Dakota — Amid growing controversy, the National Park Service (NPS) will hold a virtual public informational session tomorrow to discuss the future of the historic wild horses in the Teddy Roosevelt National Park (TRNP) in Medora. The meeting will be followed by a Q&A session with a panel of NPS staff and subject matter experts.
